DEFINITION: Quality Early Care and Education is the percentage of private preschools, licensed child care centers and licensed family child care homes in Rhode Island that are nationally accredited. Child care centers and preschools are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Family child care homes are accredited by the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC).
