 Elizabeth Burke Bryant, JD
Executive Director

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Ms. Bryant received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont and a law degree from the George Washington University Law School. Previous positions include Policy Director for the City of Providence, Housing Court prosecutor, and consultant to the Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation, The Rhode Island Foundation, and the Women's Prison Mentoring Project. Ms. Bryant has been actively involved in several community organizations including the United Way of Rhode Island and the Local Initiative Support Corporation. Catherine B. Walsh, MPH

Cathie is responsible for program planning and management of all Rhode Island KIDS COUNT programs. She edits the Rhode Island KIDS COUNT Factbook, Issue Brief and Ideas that Work! series and conducts and supervises research, writing, and data analysis on children's issues. Cathie received her BA from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and her Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has a certificate in epidemiology from the New England Epidemiology Institute at Tufts University. Prior to her current position, she was an independent consultant, a Program Officer for the Rhode Island Foundation, and Regional Manager for Family and Community Health Programs at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Leanne C. Barrett
Policy Analyst

Leanne is responsible for research, writing, and policy analysis in the areas of early care and education, afterschool and out-of-school time programs, family support, and K-12 education.  Leanne has an undergraduate degree from Brown University and an M.A. in Policy from Tufts University.  Just prior to her current position, Leanne was Director of Community Initiatives at United Way of Rhode Island. She also worked for nearly 10 years as Program Manager at Work/Family Directions in Boston, where she managed dozens of national corporate community investments to help working parents. 

Jill K. Beckwith, MPH
Policy Analyst

Jill is responsible for advocacy and policy analysis focused on a broad range of children’s health issues, including health insurance coverage and access to mental health and oral health care services for children enrolled in RIte Care. Most recently, Jill managed the Dental Care Access Initiative, a component of the Rhode Island Oral Health Access Project. Previously, she was the Director of Prevention at AIDS Project Rhode Island, Assistant Director at the Massachusetts Prevention Center in Cambridge, MA, and Associate Director of the Measurable Enhancement of the Status of Health (MESH) Initiative at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network in Allentown, PA. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dorene A. Bloomer
Finance Director

Dorene is responsible for the accounting system and reports necessary to monitor and maintain the financial health of the organization. She prepares regular reports to foundation and government funders and monthly financial statements and materials for the annual audit. Prior to her current position, she was the General Accounting Supervisor for AAA Southern New England and the Director of Finance and Administration for the Mental Health Association of Rhode Island. Dorene received her BA from Rhode Island College.

Elaine Budish, MPA
Research Analyst

Elaine is responsible for data quality and data management at Rhode Island KIDS COUNT, including production of the Rhode Island KIDS COUNT Factbook and other research publications. She also works on research, writing and policy analysis related to K-16 education issues, juvenile justice, and children in immigrant families. Elaine also coordinates and supervises Rhode Island KIDS COUNT interns. She received her B.A. from Brown University and a master’s degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University. Prior to her current position, Elaine was a graduate intern at the Rhode Island Department of Health. Before attending graduate school, she was the Program Coordinator of a Workforce Investment Act grant providing educational services and workforce preparedness training to adolescents living in group homes in Rhode Island. She has also held research assistant positions on the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing study, the New York Social Indicators Study, and the Survey of Parents and Youth.

Raymonde Charles
Communications Coordinator

Raymonde is responsible for Rhode Island KIDS COUNT's website content and maintenance, and coordinating press communications. Raymonde does research and writing for the Rhode Island Kids Count Factbook and the Legislative Wrap Up. She also provides program and administrative support for various projects. She is a graduate of Classical High School in Providence and Rhode Island College. She is a past co-chair of the Youth in Action Board of Directors. Prior to her current position at Rhode Island KIDS COUNT, Raymonde was an intern at the Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights.

Stephanie Geller, EdM
Policy Analyst

Stephanie is responsible for policy analysis, research, and writing on a variety of issues affecting the well-being of children, including poverty, family economic security, housing, homelessness, and child behavioral health. Stephanie also helps to coordinate the research and writing of the annual Rhode Island Kids Count Factbook. Most recently, Stephanie was a Research Associate at the National Center on Family Homelessness where she managed a multi-site study that examined the effectiveness of different housing and service approaches for homeless families. Previously, Stephanie was Research Director at Volunteers in Health Care and Scientist at the National Center on Substance Abuse Treatment Needs Assessment. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wellesley College and a Masters in Education with a focus on Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
