Rhode Island State House

Throughout the legislative session, Rhode Island KIDS COUNT tracks the budget and other bills being considered by the Rhode Island General Assembly and presents policy information and data-based testimony to General Assembly committees. The Rhode Island General Assembly meets from January to July. During the legislative session additional bills are added on a rolling basis.

Budget Priorities, Budget Analysis

Rhode Island KIDS COUNT monitors, analyzes, and comments on budget proposals and appropriations relating to children, youth, and families.

The budget is a statement of our state’s priorities, values, and commitments — and lays the foundation for our future. Rhode Island KIDS COUNT prepares annual analyses of the Governor’s Proposed State Budget, which identifies budget items that will affect the well-being of Rhode Island’s children, youth, and families.
